CEIR Releases New White Paper Offering Recession Strategies for Exhibition Organizers

DALLAS, 16 July 2009 - The Center for Exhibition Industry Research (CEIR) announces the release of Looking past the recession: Exhibition strategies for the interim, a new white paper by Skip Cox, CEO of Exhibit Surveys, Inc., first released at the Exhibition and Convention Executives Forum in June.

Although the current recession has forced exhibitors to cut their budgets, the perceived value of exhibitions as a marketing tool is intact as Q1 data indicates that audience quality metrics remain strong. Metrics that track the health of the industry and the economy show hints of a turnaround that may begin late this year. In the interim, there are strategic moves the industry can employ as it rides out recession so that it may utilize the coming recovery period from a position of strength.

In this new white paper, current audience quality metrics are analyzed for their bearing on the exhibiting marketplace in the short-term and long-term. New best-practices, especially formulated for exhibition organizers to help retain exhibitors and provide timely value to attendees, are offered here as the basic principles of exhibiting are re-examined and reiterated.
