The International Center for Exhibitor and Event Marketing Launches at TS2 Exhibitor and Event Marketing Resource Provides Strategies, Solutions and Support

DALLAS, 21 July 2009 – The International Center for Exhibitor and Event Marketing (The Center) officially launches today at TS2 – Total Solutions Marketing for the Exhibit and Event Professional, held at McCormick Place in Chicago, Ill. Stemming from a collaboration of industry organizations and leaders, The Center provides a powerful focal point for outreach to the exhibitor and event marketing professional community by serving as a resource for all who are actively engaged in exhibitor and event marketing. Its multi-dimensional approach promotes education and professional development for exhibit managers and event marketers through a resource-rich and interactive Web site at www.iceem.net. The Center provides research, expert views, international perspectives and face-to-face meetings and supports building strong business relationships to achieve the highest level of exhibitor and event marketing excellence.

The Center has been created based on a partnership announced in December 2008 between the International Association of Exhibitions and Events (IAEE) and National Trade Productions (NTP), owner of TS², to engage and support exhibitors and event marketers. The Center will offer many benefits to members including in-person and virtual learning opportunities, a global calendar of exhibitions, career center, social networks, tools and tips, quick polls and more.

“I am very excited to see the launch of The Center and know it will be a terrific resource for exhibitors and event marketers,” said NTP Chairman Robert Harar. “This new venture will serve their needs by providing a real-time, interactive resource including in-depth research, blogs, worksheets and networking opportunities – both virtual and face-to-face – that are relevant to exhibitors and event marketing professionals’ daily needs.”

For the first time, The Center completes the connection between show organizers, suppliers, exhibitors and event marketers.

“The Center provides a first-time opportunity for all organizations that serve customers of the exhibitions and events industry to come together,” said IAEE President Steven Hacker, CAE. “The primary focus of The Center is to provide support and resources for exhibitor and event marketers. We will do that by marshalling new and helpful resources from show organizers, suppliers and others in the industry who have a stake in its successful future.”

Board Leadership
The Center is governed by a board of directors whose members are chosen for their skills and experience, and who represent a broad cross-section of the exhibition and event marketing industry. The current board includes: Doreen R. Biela, CEM, senior planner of Meetings & Events for McDonald's Corporation; Aaron R. Bludworth, chief operating officer of George Fern Company; Robert F. Dallmeyer, CEM, president of RD International;  Kimberley Gishler, Americas Marcom manager for Hewlett-Packard Company; Marc L. Goldberg, CME, partner at Marketech Inc.; Beate Halligan, president of H+A International, Inc.; Noel Hoekstra, CEM, director of International Accounts at CEP International Chicago; Marilyn Kroner, principal at Kroner Communications; Michael D. Lynn, CME, CMM, CMP, CEM, CPC, director of MarComm, Exhibitions, Events & Protocol at L-3 Communications; Yulita Osuba, CMP, senior director of Sales, Marketing & Event Management for the Orange County Convention Center; Shawn Pierce, vice president of Operations for Hanley Wood Exhibitions; Warren S. Sellers, president of Sellers Expositions; and David Causton, general manager at McCormick Place. Steven Hacker, CAE, president of IAEE and Robert E. Harar, chairman of National Trade Productions, Inc. serve as ex-officio members.
